A native of East Rockaway, New York, and a magna cum laude graduate of Boston University, attorney Marc Rovner currently serves as general counsel and director of business development for BETA Abstract LLC. In addition to his role as an attorney, Marc Rovner has been active in Hurricane Sandy relief and supports charitable organizations such as New York Rising.
Operating under the umbrella of New York Rising, the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR) helped create reconstruction plans that have played an important role in rebuilding communities affected by Hurricane Sandy. Created by local committees, New York Rising Plans aimed to evaluate damages and risks, as well as to identify needs and create strategies to help communities recover and rebuild. Plans outline both short-term projects such as housing recovery and grants to help local businesses that were damaged and destroyed, as well as longer-term actions aimed at community reconstruction and improvements to infrastructure that will facilitate continuing growth.

A native of East Rockaway, New York, attorney Marc Rovner serves as general counsel and director of business development at BETA Abstract, LLC. Outside of his professional pursuits, Marc Rovner contributes to the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps children in need. Recently, the Garden of Dreams Foundation hosted nearly 30 preschoolers for a Sesame Street Live Let’s Dance! Clinic at a Manhattan studio. A cast member from Sesame Street taught the children choreographed dance moves from the Sesame Street Live Show. Moreover, Elmo and Cookie Monster paid a surprise visit to the children at the rehearsal. Cookie Monster and Elmo performed and assisted the children in learning the dance moves. After the clinic ended, the children received gift bags containing Elmo dolls courtesy of Garden of Dreams. Since 2008, Garden of Dreams has helped to enrich the lives of over 310,000 children and their families. The organization hosts over 500 programs and events annually. A respected East Rockaway, New York, attorney, Marc Rovner holds a senior staff position with the title insurance company, BETA Abstract, LLC. Beyond his role as attorney, Marc Rovner is an avid football fan who is a third-generation holder of New York Giants’ season tickets. Under head coach Tom Coughlin, the Giants had a disappointing 2015 season. Going 6-10, they were unable to close out a number of closely contested battles in the final minutes.
With the Giants in rebuilding mode, the team actively scouted prospects at the weeklong NFL Scouting Combine in early 2016. This February event helps teams solidify picks for the NFL Draft at the end of April. In dire need of quality pass rushers, the Giants sat down with players such as Eastern Kentucky defensive end Noah Spence. After leaving Ohio State, Spence put on a convincing defensive clinic for Eastern Kentucky in 2015. He is now a leading potential first-round pick for the Giants, who have the 10th overall pick in the draft. Another pass rusher on the Giants’ radar as a potential first-round pick is Clemson University defensive end Shaq Lawson. |
